Twin Rivers Wound Care Testimonials

Gerald Gaither, patient

In January 2010, Mr. Gaither fell while having a seizure, resulting in a wound to his left elbow. He had two surgeries, several bouts of staph infections and suffered with an open wound to his elbow for over a year. In early December 2011, Mr Gaither went back to the emergency room where he met a Twin Rivers Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center patient who told him to call for an appointment as soon as possible. He called the Wound Center on Monday and was given an appointment on Tuesday.

When he arrived he told the nurse, “No one’s gonna be able to fix this. I’ve been dealing with it for over a year and don’t want to have any more surgeries.” The nurse explained that Dr. Pu would do a complete work up and find out what’s keeping this wound from healing.

After having a bone scan at Twin Rivers, he was found to have a bone infection and was referred to Dr. Ed Landry for a bone debridement. He also completed six weeks of IV antibiotics with aggressive wound care and started 40 hyperbaric treatments at Twin Rivers Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center.

Mr. Gaither is so happy to report that his elbow is officially healed! “If you have a wound, definitely come here for your wound care because they were able to heal my arm when no one else could!”
